Dr. Andi Winney

Veterinarian/Veterinary Partner

Dr. Winney is that little girl who always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. After 4 years of playing college basketball, Dr. Winney attended Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. When she graduated in 2014, her dream became a reality. Dr. Winney practiced veterinary medicine in Chicago, IL for seven years before making the move to South Carolina. Dr. Winney enjoys pet wellness care, internal medicine and surgery; but most of all, she enjoys caring for people by caring for their pets.

Outside of work, Dr. Winney enjoys hiking, crossfit, cooking for friends, and exploring new parts of the world. She has a little black mutt named Ellie, a rambunctious Golden Retriever named Lemon, a pretty little kitty named Loa, and a cat who thinks he’s a dog named Rhip.

Dr. Winney is so excited to meet you and your four legged family members. The entire Ashley Pines Animal Hospital staff is excited to serve as your veterinary care team and treat your pets as our own.

Dr. Samantha Thompson

Veterinarian

Dr. Thompson has always called South Carolina her home. She was born in Aiken but grew up in the Lowcountry in the nearby town of Bluffton. Her home was always filled with dogs and cats but it was actually her love of the ocean that piqued her interest in Veterinary Medicine. Her goal was to become a marine mammal Veterinarian and work in an Aquarium or mammal rescue. That was, until she got her first job in a Veterinary clinic the summer before starting college. The job was tough, but the experience sparked something within her and inspired her on her path to Companion Animal Medicine.

Dr. Thompson attended the University of South Carolina and received her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Marine Sciences. She then attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine where she was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. She started her career with a move to Charleston in order to stay on the coast that she loved so much.

Dr. Thompson and her husband, Logan, were married in 2023. They have two dogs, a one eared Pitbull terrier mix named Bo and a partially blind Labrador mix named Obie, who Dr.Thompson rescued from St. Kitts while she was attending vet school. Dr. Thompson and her husband are avid South Carolina Gamecocks fans and attend or watch every sporting event they can! Any other free time that Dr. Thompson can get, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, boating on the river or “golfing” with Logan (she is better at driving the golf cart rather than actually golfing, but she’s working on it!).

Dr. Thompson takes pride in knowing she is a part of the human-animal bond and understands that our pets are our family. She looks forward to the opportunity to provide high quality medicine to the clients and pets of the Ashley Pines Animal Hospital Family!

Dr. Savannah Lavallee

Veterinarian

Dr. Savannah Lavallee is a graduate of Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Originally from just outside of Raleigh, North Carolina, she earned her undergraduate degree from Western Carolina University before pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.

Dr. Lavallee is passionate about forming lasting relationships with her clients and their pets. She believes in advocating for her patients while delivering high-quality, personalized care. She finds deep purpose not only in caring for animals, but also in supporting the people who love them. For her, keeping a pet healthy is also a way of caring for the heart and home of the person behind that pet.

At home, she and her husband, Richard, enjoy life with their two cherished Chihuahuas, Lemon and Frisky. In her free time, Dr. Lavallee loves spending time in nature, baking, crafting, watching movies, and making memories with friends.

She’s honored to be part of the Ashley Pines Animal Hospital team and looks forward to meeting you soon!

She is especially passionate about providing veterinary care to underrepresented communities, with a focus on serving clients who speak English as a second language. She values building long-term relationships with her clients through compassion, empathy, and strong communication skills.
